Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on February 07 attended the DefExpo 2020 in Uttar Pradesh. While addressing the gathering, he said, "Many times I have talked about overall economy and the spinoffs because of the advancement of defence technology in civil sector, and the prime example of it is documents exchange between HAL and Directorate General of Civil Aviation regarding the modification of Dornier aircraft. They also turned a military aircraft into a seven sitter aircraft which will boost the regional connectivity; this will also play a major role in achieving the objectives of Udaan scheme." "India doesn't have fully indigenous designed and manufactured civil aircraft; I believe that this step will form a base for the indigenization of civil aero base sector," added Singh.
