Man shot by police after allegedly ramming police cars in Melbourne's north
A man has been shot by police after he allegedly drove at officers and rammed their cars in a McDonald's car park in Melbourne's north.
Police say the man and his female passenger were acting suspiciously in the car park off Mickleham Road in Westmeadows just after midnight on Friday.

As the officers stepped out of their unmarked cars to approach the pair, the driver allegedly accelerated directly towards them, ramming the two cars, police said.
One officer then shot the man. An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said the man, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital in a stable condition with an upper body injury.

The passenger was arrested and she will be interviewed on Friday morning.

It was one of three violent shootings in suburban Melbourne overnight.
A 25-year-old Melton man was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound to his back after a relative raised the alarm.
The man turned up at the relative's Melton home about 2.30am on Friday, but the man indicated the shooting had happened elsewhere.
Police said he refused to give any further details. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
And in Epping, a 35-year-old man was shot in the foot around 4.30am.
Police say the altercation occurred in a car park behind the shops on High Street, near Rufus Street, before the man was shot.
Unknown offenders fled the scene.
Paramedics took the man to hospital in a serious but stable condition with an injury to his lower body.
