Ramalay Trust mulls legal option

VARANASI: The Ramalay Nyas headed by Shankaracharya of Sharda, Dwarka and Jyotish peeths, Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati, is going to move the court to challenge central government's setting up the trust - Shri Ramjanmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra - for construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya.
Talking to reporters on Thursday, secretary of Ramalay Nyas, Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati said, "The central government did not follow the Supreme Court's directive in true spirit in forming the trust. The Supreme Court had directed government to formulate a scheme, not a trust for the construction of Ram temple."
The central government did not follow SC directive and adopted free will in appointment of trustees in its own favour, he said.
