Mah foresters given no papers on T-19 probe by MP

Nagpur: Madhya Pradesh forest officials investigating the Sharmili (T-19) tigress death case at Khandasa on Maharashtra border, near Deolapar, have refused to share relevant papers related to the investigations with forest officials here.
On February 1, Seoni forest officials had publicly alleged that Deolapar foresters had moved the carcass of Sharmili with the help of a bullock cart to dump it at Khandasa in Madhya Pradesh, near Khawasa.
The allegations are based on confessional statement by temporary forest labourer Dhamsingh Khandate, who, after being arrested by MP officials, had told them that Deolapar round officer Salim Razzak Khan had directed him to shift the carcass on the night of December 10, 2019, towards Khawasa.
Stunned by the allegations, Nagpur chief conservator of forests (CCF) P Kalyan Kumar had ordered a probe and spoken to his counterpart RS Kori in Seoni, who promised to hand over relevant papers to the team from Nagpur.
However, according to sources, Ramtek ACF Sandeep Giri and Deolapar RFO SG Parihar went to Seoni twice on February 3 and 5, but MP officials refused to share the investigation papers.
Kori said, “Maharashtra officials had met me and deputy conservator (DyCF) but I’m not aware whether the papers have been handed over or not. I will confirm and let you know.”
Kori further added, “No further arrests have been made.”
Maharashtra officials said on condition of anonymity, “A tiger cannot be dumped by a lone person and there must be at least 5-6 persons. Why were the others not arrested? We are doing a parallel investigations. MP officials have promised to hand over probe papers.”
