JAISALMER: A man threw his 12-year-old son into water tank and then committed suicide by jumping into another water tank under Chauhatan police station in Barmer late on Wednesday night. The reason of suicide is not known yet.
Police have registered a case and started investigation. The accused’s wife had gone to her parents’ house at the time of the incident.
Chauhatan dySP Ajit Singh said, “Gordhan Ram lodged a report with the police saying that his brother Kala Ram Meghwal (50), who was mentally disturbed on Wednesday, threw his 12-year-old son Bhoja Ram into a water tank at his house and himself jumped into another water tank in the neighbourhood”.
Bhojaram (12) was mute and deaf, the report said. Police reached the spot and took out the bodies from the tank. tnn
