Muslims to stake claim on Babri mosque debris, set to move apex court

AYODHYA: Babri Masjid Action Committee will shortly move Supreme Court to stake claim on the debris of the demolished mosque before construction of the Ram Temple picks up pace by the newlyappointed trust.
Babri Masjid Action Committee convenor Zafaryab Jilani told TOI, “We have discussed with our counsel, Rajiv Dhawan, and he is also of the opinion that we must claim the Babri debris soon. The committee will hold a meeting in Delhi next week to hammer out the procedure for moving court. I have been assured by Muslim residents of Ayodhya that land will be arranged for dumping the debris.”
Chairman of the Babri Masjid cell in the All-India Muslim Personal Law Board, SQR Ilyas said, “We will move SC through our litigants in the Ayodhya title dispute and it’s important the mosque debris is removed before temple construction begins.”
Prominent Ayodhya cleric Sayyad Ekhlaq Ahmas confirmed that he has zeroed in on the land where the debris could be kept.Reacting to the claim of Muslims, Friend of Ram Lalla, Triloki Nath Pandey said, “We have no objection to the Muslims collecting the mosque debris. This will strengthen brotherhood and communal harmony.”
