Patna: 45-year-old woman dies in celebratory firing

PATNA: A 45-year-old woman watching a wedding procession from the window of her house died in celebratory firing by those participating in it late on Wednesday night. The deceased was identified as Kiran Devi.
The incident took place in Badi Patandevi locality under the Alamganj police station area in Patna City. The wedding party members fled from the spot after realising that the woman was dead.
Patna City SDPO Manish Kumar said Kiran was watching the wedding procession along with some other women family members. “One of the bullets fired by someone in the wedding party hit the woman’s temple,” he said, adding the victim was rushed to Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH), where the doctors declared her brought dead.
“None from the victim’s family informed the police about the incident. We got to know about it from locals,” he said. “Some suspects have been identified. Police will arrest them soon,” the SDPO added.
