Surat:
An 11-year-old boy,
who disappeared from his school a day ago, was found in Man Darwaja area of the city on Thursday morning. He ran away from school after his mother found that he had stolen Rs49,000 cash from home. He spent a portion of the money in a game zone and on food at a mall near Udhna crossroads.
Earlier, a complaint of kidnapping of the boy was registered by cops at Salabatpura police station after his mother approached them.
A schoolteacher found Rs26,000 cash and a mobile phone with the boy on Wednesday and the former called his mother and asked her to come to school. The boy’s mother told school officials that Rs49,000 was stolen from her house but she had no idea who stole it. Before she could return home with him, the boy disappeared from the school.
“The boy told us he was scared of his mother’s scolding and also wanted to enjoy with the money and therefore ran away. After he disappeared, he went to the game zone and spent the night roaming on Udhna crossroads,” a police officer said.
The boy’s mother is a domestic help and lives with her three children. She separated from her husband some time ago.
