KOLKATA: The city is likely to remain cloudy during the second half of Thursday and receive moderate rain on Friday. The rain may continue on Saturday, but its intensity will be low, according to Met officials.
The minimum temperature crawled up to 16°C on Wednesday. With a cyclonic circulation set to form over central India, south Bengal will be lashed by rain, said Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) director GK Das.
"The system will generate showers across south Bengal and Kolkata. There could be a spell of light shower in the city late on Thursday. On Friday, the city is likely to receive moderate rain for around six hours," Das added. Once the circulation moves away by Sunday, temperature could plunge again.
