LUCKNOW: A spat between two faculty members of Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS) turned ugly when they lodged cross FIRs at
Vibhuti Khand police station, accusing each other of issuing life threat and assault.
Dr Sudarshan Kumar Vijay, a professor in cardiology department of RMLIMS accused assistant professor Dr Ashish Jha of bringing patients from a private hospital to RMLIMS for sophisticated tests and treatment. He lodged the FIR on Tuesday.
He alleged Dr Jha brought a heart patient from a private hospital to RMLIMS for angioplasty.
"While Dr Jha was conducting angiography, a doctor of the private hospital was also present in the cath lab. When I objected to the presence of an outsider in the lab, Dr Jha entered into an argument and issued life threat," he added.
Dr Vijay said he clicked the photograph of the outsider in the cath lab. Lodging a counter-FIR on Wednesday, Dr Jha accused Dr Vijay of assaulting him inside cath lab. "While I was conducting the procedure on a heart patient, Dr Vijay entered the lab and asked me to take him away as his patients were waiting for treatment. After a verbal spat, Dr Vijay assaulted me," he claimed. Dr Jha said his patient was critical and was referred to RMLIMS by the private hospital. "The doctor of private hospital had come on the patient's request. When Dr Vijay raised objection, I told him that it was an emergency case but he did not allow me to complete angioplasty. I had to leave the patient after angiography."
SHO, Vibhuti Khand, Rajeev Dwivedi said they will record the statements of both the doctors.
