Man held for Kumbh blast threat on social media

Gorakhpur: A 45-year-old man was arrested and sent to Deoria district jail on Thursday for allegedly issuing threats on social media to trigger blasts at Kumbh Mela and Deoria Mahotsav. The message went viral, prompting police action.
Kotwali inspector TJ Singh said accused Nasiruddin Ansari was a resident of Vishnupur Chirkihwa under Rampur Karkhana police station in Deoria. “The in-charge of Rampur Karkhana thana received a screenshot of the incendiary message, which was sent from the mobile number 9517244848. We put the number on surveillance and it led us to Ansari,” Singh said.
Based on the complaint of the police station in-charge, a case was registered against Ansari under Sections 153, 505(1)B and 507 of the IPC and Section 66C of the IT Act. He was arrested from Kotwali following a tip-off, Singh added.
