NEW DELHI : Kia Motors has formally launched the Carnival in India at the Auto Expo. The new car will be slotted in the sparsely populated luxury MPV segment. The Carnival starts at a price of 24.95 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base variant and goes all the way to 33.95 lakh for the top variant. The car gets various seat configurations as well.

Kia Motors has already begun advanced bookings for the car and is expected to start delivering it later this month. The Carnival comes with a 2.2-litre, VGT diesel engine that gives out 200PS of power and a peak torque of 440Nm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed ‘sportsmatic’ transmission.

In terms of safety, the car gets up to six airbags, electric stability control (ESC) along with ABS. The company claims that the car’s structure is built using high-strength steel and adhesives. Other features include front and rear parking sensors and hill start assist.

The car will be available in three variants and different seating configurations that the buyer can opt for. The most basic configuration comes with a seating capacity. The highest seating capacity falls in the prestige variant that can easily house 9 people. The most expensive variant only seats 7 people but comes with a host of luxury features.
