KANPUR: Additional district and sessions judge and designated SC/ST Act court,
Kanpur Dehat, on Tuesday sentenced six persons, including a woman, to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 20,000 each for committing murder and attempting to destroy evidence.
Those convicted are Raj Kumar alias Sethi Yadav, Rajpal, Vinod, Ajay, Srikant and Narendra, all residents of village Dariya
Niwada under
Shivrajpur police circle.
According to special prosecutor
KK Shukla,
Sushila Devi of village Dariya Niwada in her report filed with the police alleged that his son Deepu alias Ajay had an affair with Anjali, sister of accused Vinod, a resident of the same village. On October 25, 2014, the accused had caught Ajay and Anjali in Shivrajpur and took them to the village.
Devi added in the report that Rajpal, Vinod, Ajay, Srikant and Narendra, a relative of Vinod, Nanki, wife of Rajpal, had thrashed Ajay for his relationship with Anjali. They later killed Ajay and threw his dead body on a railway track, she alleged in the report.
