On 14 March 2020, Drift Outlaws will host Bragging Rights at Killarney International Raceway. Top drifters from in and around Cape Town will make their way to the event and challenge for the Drift King crown.
Cape Town-born drifter, Juan Stemmet, will also partake in the event, but has been called out by Shane Green. Green, one of Stemmet’s fiercest rivals, feels that Stemmet should not have represented South Africa at the 2019 FIA Intercontinental Drifting Cup (IDC) in Japan at the end of last year - this despite Stemmet cleaning the floor with his rivals in 2019.
In a video posted on Facebook, Green belittles Stemmet and even accuses race master, Raziek Rajah, of sending "the wrong person" to Japan. During the verbal spat, Green and Stemmet agree to each put down R20 000 in a winner-takes-all challenge.
Rajah warns Green that if he does not have R20 000 to cover his side of the wager, his race car will be detained. To which Green responds: “Of course!” Rajah further warns that any driver who knocks into another driver will be disqualified. This clearly upset Green. Green is known for his malicious on-track antics, and has come to blows with many of his rivals.
Watch the video below and see how Green and Rajah come to verbal blows.
