KL Rahul played another surging innings for his side during India's 1st ODI match against New Zealand at Seddon Park in Hamilton on Wednesday (February 5).
The wicketkeeper-batsman came in at number 5 to bat and guided India to a hefty score.
Upon winning the toss, New Zealand welcomed the Men In Blue to bat first as Manyenk Agarwal and Prithvi Shaw were handed their ODI debuts in the absence of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan.
The duo built a 50-run partnership before the visitors lost both Shaw and Agarwal in back-to-back overs.
However, it was thanks to the power-hitting from Virat Kohli (51), Shreyas Iyer (103) and KL Rahul (88*) in the end that boosted India to a score of 347/4.
The Karnataka batsman played an anchoring knock which includes 6 sixes, one of them being an unorthodox reverse sweep in the 48th over.
Everyone including the bowler, James Neesham, was awestruck with the technique with which KL managed to hit the ball for a maximum.
