Two jump to death in city

Rajkot: Two persons committed suicide by jumping from high-rise buildings in Rajkot in the past 24 hours.
In the first case, Milan Mehta (55) jumped from the ninth floor of Neptune Tower on Kalawad Road on Tuesday evening. Mehta’s identity could only be ascertained from a diary found from his pocket.
“We called up different numbers mentioned in his diary and thus were able to identify him. Mehta was living alone in Vaniavadi locality of Rajkot. We are yet to probe the reason for his suicide,” said an official from Gandhigram police station.
The second case was reported from Pancheshwer Tower building on Sadhu Vasvani Road where Purvesh Vasoya (45) jumped from the third floor of Pancheshwer Tower on Wednesday morning. “Vasoya told his family members that he was going for a morning walk. Then he committed suicide. Vasoya’s family members rushed him to Rajkot Civil Hospital where he was declared brought dead. Our preliminary investigation suggests that Vasoya was passing through a financial crisis, which might have prompted him to take the drastic step,” said an official from University police station.
