Two days on, cops yet to nab prime accused

Allahabad: More than 48 hours after a group of inmates of an Allahabad University (AU) hostel allegedly hurled crude bombs shops and vehicles near Manmohan Park, police are still struggling to find out the whereabouts of the key accused who is currently on the run.
On Tuesday, an FIR was registered against 18 persons and three were arrested over their alleged role in the violence. According to police, the key accused Nitin is native to Ballia. Traders are pressuring police to ensure the arrest of all accused. A Katra-based trader said, “We often see students getting into fights with shopkeepers over issues like reducing price of items. They sometimes even threaten us of dire consequences.”
SSP (Allahabad) Satyarth Anirudh Pankaj said the police are raiding at the suspected hideouts of the accused. He added that police teams have also been sent to native towns of the accused in hopes of arresting them.
