Man hangs self, family says was upset over affair

GREATER NOIDA: A 26-year-old man allegedly hanged himself from a ceiling fan in his apartment in Sector Omicron 1 A in Site 5 on Monday night.
The deceased, Bhanu Pratap Singh’s family said, he was upset over his relationship with a married woman who refused to marry him.
Singh was a native of Bulandshahr and lived in Greater Noida with a flatmate, Hari Shankar, who found his body after returning from work around 10.30pm.
Police said he had been working as a driver in a private company from past four years, but was had lost his job three months ago.
Meanwhile, Prabhat Dixit, the SHO of Site 5 police station told TOI that no suicide note found from the flat. “The body was sent for an autopsy. Prima facie, the deceased was unemployed from past three months due to which he took the extreme step,” he said.
