Promoting the Konkani language

Two books written in Romi Konkani by Rui Coelho, namely, ‘Konknnicho Fuddar Kitem’ a research book and ‘Goy saun London’ a novel were recently released at a function in Vasco.

Chief guest at the function was Fr Camilo Dias, while guest of honour was Fr John Fernandes of St Andrew’s Church.

In his address, Fr Camilo encouraged people to speak Konkani at home and with their children.

Also present on the occasion were Estrelin Fernandes, Chrisel Coelho and Gina Coelho among others. Rui has published eight books in Romi Konkani.
