NAGPUR: Cab aggregator
Uber foresees Nagpur emerging into its biggest non-capital and non-metro market. The company has clocked an overall growth of 35% in 2019, and is eyeing a double-digit growth for 2020 as well, it said in a press release issued here. The company says it has completed 15 million trips in the city in the last four years.
Uber has onboarded more than 10,000 ‘driver-partners’ in the city, and is now coming up with Uber Plus — a scheme to reward the drivers. This includes incentives like free medical consultations, concession on education modules, faster airport pickups and savings on vehicle maintenance costs. The drivers are also being given easy access to life and health insurance policies, the press release said.
“We have witnessed an impressive
growth trajectory in the city and are looking forward to further expanding our footprint in 2020 with our new auto and intercity offerings,” said Krishna Veer Singh, Uber’s head of west India operations. Uber Auto has also seen major growth in Nagpur within a year, he said.
