Diners in parts of Delhi were unable to place orders with online food ordering and delivery app Zomato on Wednesday evening in what could be a case of technical issues with the app.

Restaurants in south Delhi started complaining about the Zomato delivery app not working around 8:50 pm on Wednesday evening. For users, some restaurants in parts of south, east, and central Delhi appeared as closed for ordering.

A restaurant owner in central Delhi said he hadn’t received orders on the app on Wednesday. While others said orders were getting cancelled in what could be a technical issue with the popular food ordering app.

Another restaurant owner said the orders were getting cancelled.

"We were going through a tech glitch and the issue has been sorted out now." Zomato told users around 9:30 pm on Twitter. It asked users to share they registered numbers to look in to the matter.

On Wednesday evening users of the app took to social media platform Twitter to complain about time being taken to deliver orders and a lack of delivery boys being assigned to pick up and deliver food.

The complaints emerged from cities such as Bengaluru, Delhi, and NCR.
