An accused paedophile teacher has been arrested and charged with having sex with a six-year-old girl.
Frederick Brian Jones was arrested on Wednesday morning over allegations he had molested a student in his Peakhurst home in southern Sydney between 2013 and 2018.
The 83-year-old teaches art in his home studio called Flair for Art, and was detained by NSW Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad following a two-month investigation.
Detectives allege Mr Jones indecently assaulted and had sexual intercourse with the student on a number of occasions at the studio.
The girl was aged between six and 11 during the alleged sexual assaults.

Mr Jones opened his door dressed in a dirty white singlet, before officers took the accused paedophile to Kogarah Police Station.
He was refused bail and will appear in Sutherland Local Court on Wednesday.
Mr Jones' charges include having sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 10, having sexual intercourse with a person aged between 10 and 14 years, and indecent assault of a person under 16 years.
He was charged with ten offences in total.
Police allege Mr Jones knew his victim, and he was given a provisional apprehended violence order to protect the victim and her family.
Mr Jones cannot go within 100 metres of her address or approach anyone in contact with her.
