The Toyota Land Cruiser 200 was the top-selling large luxury SUV for January 2020.

The big SUV sold off an impressive 114 units to put some clear daylight between it and the second-placed Range Rover/RR Sport.

The RR/RR Sport found favour with 83 new owners, while the Prado, Toyota’s second biggest SUV after the LC 200, sold 77 units. In fourth place is the Jaguar F-Pace on 464 units sold, ahead of the Land Rover Discovery on 36 units.

The Range Rover Velar sold 34 units in sixth place, followed by the Volvo XC90 on 31 units. Audi’s Q7 did well with 24 units sold, ahead of the Volkswagen Touareg on 20 units.

The Audi Q8 sold 14 units in tenth place.

In 2019, the BMW X5 was the top-selling large luxury SUV. It sold off an impressive 1399 units throughout the year, but BMW South Africa opted to not share its sales figures.

According to Naamsa: “From the beginning of January 2020, BMW SA has implemented a new sales reporting model and has not reported new vehicle sales for the month of January 2020. The January 2020 new vehicle sales report, therefore, excludes BMW new vehicle sales for the moment.”
