On Wednesday at 6 pm, special abhishekam to Peruvudayar and Periyanayaki and maha deepa aradhana would be held and the Veedhi ula would be held at 10 pm.

After Madras High Court ruled that the consecration ceremony in Tanjore big temple would be held in both Tamil and Sanskrit, Tanjore district is on festive mode. Apart from around 5,500 police personnel on security duty, the entire temple premises and the city is under CCTV surveillance for which around 300 CCTV cameras were installed at key points and at places where people used to gather.
Meanwhile, the security personnel are planning to use three more helicams for surveillance across the temple premises to monitor the crowd movements and so they were brought to the temple premises on Tuesday morning. ADGP Jayanth Murali, in association with DIG (Thanajur Range) Loganathan, visited the spot and reviewed the security arrangements and they also inspected the entry and exit points of the VVIPs and the devotees.
The temple administration has planned to perform the eighth kaala yagasalai pooja at 4.30 am while the Naadi chandanam, Maha Poornahoothi, Deepa Aradhana and Yatra Dhanam would be performed at 7.25 am. The holy water would be carried to the Vimanam at 9.30 am and the water would be poured onto the temple tower and the Vimanam to mark the commencement of the consecration.

The temple administration expects at least five lakh devotees to witness the holy event and the facilities have been made for the benefit of the devotees who would come from various parts of the state as well as the neighbouring states.
