Horrific moment a gang of teenagers throw a WATERMELON at a defenceless homeless man as he sleeps in a bus stop

A gang of cruel teenagers lobbed heavy watermelons at a defenceless homeless man as he slept in a bus shelter.
In footage of the incident filmed by the teenagers and later shared online, they are seen approaching the vulnerable man in Newcastle, New South Wales.
Clutching half a watermelon each, two teenagers are seen giggling and grinning as they snuck up on the man in the middle of the night.
The man had been sheltering at the bus stop in an attempt to keep warm, and was peacefully sleeping before the gang attacked.

Proudly filming the incident, the teens are then seen cruelly pelting him with the fruit, causing him to awake and scream out for help.
The gang then run off down the street.
The accomplice filming the heartless assault is believed to be a teenage girl.
The shocking footage was shared in a local Facebook group by a concerned resident, and immediately received a horrified response.
'Send it to their employers', one local said.
Another added: 'What kind of people prey on defenseless humans that are already doing it tough.. already vulnerable and feeling down?'
'Hope they're homeless one day and they get treated the same way,' another shocked local said.
'Despicable behaviour.'
