UP: Body of young girl found in Hathras restaurant

The victim was strangled allegedly by her maternal uncle who wanted to marry her.
AGRA: Body of a 20-year-old BCom second-year student was found inside a restaurant’s cabin in Hathras on Tuesday. She was strangled allegedly by her maternal uncle who wanted to marry her. According to police, when the restaurant’s waiter found the victim lying on the sofa, he raised an alarm. The manager called the area police.
Police said that according to restaurant staff, victim had come with a youth who was later identified as her maternal uncle. He had left the restaurant leaving the girl behind in the cabin.
Hathras SP Gaurav Banswal said that prima facie it seemed that she was strangled. Her body has been sent for post mortem. An FIR has been registered against the accused under section 302 (murder) on the basis of a complaint given by the victim’s family members.
Banswal said the motive behind the murder is yet not clear.
