Uttar Pradesh: CM Yogi Adityanath orders action against ex-officer

LUCKNOW: The government will be filing a case against a former director of the panchayati raj department after he was charged with corruption in disbursal of performance grant funds.
CM Yogi Adityanath gave the department directions to proceed against former director Anil Kumar Damele on Monday. Damele, who is now retired, is accused of having gone against central guidelines and government orders, issued performance grant to ineligible gram panchayats.
Cases in this matter have already been filed against panchayati raj officials in 12 districts, including additional director Rajendra Singh, chief finance and accounts officer Keshav Singh, additional director SK Patel, and assistant director Girish Chandra Rajak. Inquiry is also being carried out against seven district level officers and employees.
