Palanpur:
In a daring escape, nine juveniles escaped from the zonal observation home in Mehsana on Tuesday morning after locking the guard and another employee.
According to an offence lodged with the B-division police station, the juveniles thrashed the guard when they were called for breakfast.
They locked the guard and another employee in the toilet and later broke open the iron grill to escape.
There were only nine juveniles in the observation home. The boys were from Surat, Ahmedabad, Maharashtra and Silvassa. Police sources said that four were detained for loot while two had attempt to murder cases lodged against them.
Observation home superintendent, Amit Limachia, said the juveniles were lodged here for the past six to seven months.
