CBSE to open DigiLocker accounts for all Class IX & XI students
A registration card for Std IX & XI contains vital details about the student like full name, subjects chosen, date of birth etc, which is then used the following year for board exams.

CBSE has decided to open DigiLocker accounts for all Std IX and XI students from its affiliated schools and put their registration cards in the secure digital depository. Till now, only Std X and XII board marksheets were stored in the accounts of students concerned. A registration card for Std IX & XI contains vital details about the student like full name, subjects chosen, date of birth etc, which is then used the following year for board exams.
This registration card helps CBSE prepare well in advance for the board exams as they have a clear cut idea on potential number of students appearing, for which subjects and their details which need to be printed in the crucial marksheets. The registration card, made in Std IX and XI itself, helps students to identify and then rectify errors like name spelling or date of birth. WIth ample time on hand, the board can make changes required so that the eventual marksheet is error free.
From February 5, the download of registration cards (from CBSE portal) will begin for schools. Parents and students both have to sign the card thus verifying that the information is correct. If any errors are noticed, then the rectification application has to be routed through schools. By May 15, CBSE will open DigiLocker accounts for all students and upload their rectified (if needed) registration cards online.
