A woman whose three siblings were savagely murdered 17 years ago has died of a brain aneurysm.

Sonia Pathik, 43, had moved out of her family home in Bridgeman Downs, northern Brisbane when psychopath Max Sica killed her younger sisters Neelma, 24, and Sidhi, 12, and brother Kunal, 18, in 2003.

Sica, who was dating Neelma, butchered the siblings in their bedrooms with a garden fork and left their bodies in an overflowing bath upstairs before calling the police.

Sonia Pathik (left in 2003), 43, had moved out of her family home in Bridgeman Downs, northern Brisbane when psychopath Max Sica killed her younger sisters Neelma, 24, and Sidhi, 12, and brother Kunal, 18

After a five-year investigation and a trial, he was jailed for 35 years without parole in 2012, the longest sentence ever handed down in Queensland.

Mother-of-two Sonia, who lived in Melbourne and worked for charities including Mental Health Australia, collapsed on Saturday and her life support machine was turned off on Monday.

Her parents, who were in Fiji when their three other children were killed, have been left shattered.

Sonia's mother Shirley Singh described her death as 'devastating and cruel'.

'She was using her experience and what she suffered to help others. She worked very hard to help others,' she told 7News.

Tributes have flooded in for Mrs Pathik online.

One friend wrote: 'We had to say goodbye to one of the most beautiful angels that ever walked this earth.

'We are devastated, shocked and feel ripped off you were taken too soon by this sudden aneurysm but there must be a purpose somehow to this heartbreak.'

The National Homeless Collective, where Mrs Pathik volunteered, wrote on Facebook: 'She volunteered every chance she could and greeted every person with the most beautiful warm hugs,'

'There will be a little less light and love in our world now and her loss will be felt forever.'
