PUNE: By March-end, recruitment for as many as 800 teachíng posts for higher secondary classes in unaided private schools affiliated to the state government would be completed, education commissioner Vishal Solanki said.
The recruitment would be conducted through the Pavitra portal. The recruitment has been ongoing since the last 18 months, but the portal has technical glitches and court proceedings.
“The recruitment process has been going on in phases. There were some technical issues in the portal and some legal issues that were creating hurdles in the recruitment system. We are trying to find out some way to overcome these hurdles and conduct this recruitment,” Solanki said.
The recruitment is being done for teachers’ posts in schools affiliated to the local self-government and unaided private schools affiliated to the government based purely on merit.
“This exercise of candidates filling up preferences was over last month. The selected candidates’ list will soon be announced,” Solanki said.
Another 1,200 more vacancies reserved for ex-servicemen will also be conducted by March. A recruitment drive through interviews in private government recognised schools for 3,000 posts would also be conducted by the education department.
Solanki said there is a huge list of applicants and almost 10 candidates would be interviewed for one vacant seat so the competition to bag the post will be tough.
