Dharmasthala: D Veerendra Heggade, dharmadhikari, Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala, led devotees in offering 216 kalasha padabhisheka to Lord Bahubali at Ratnagiri on Tuesday. A grand ‘agrodhaka’ procession was taken out prior to this ritual. Lalithakeerti Bhattaraka Swamiji of Karkala, who offered benedictions, said the sacrifice of Lord Bahubali is important at a time when injustice, anger, hatred and cheating abound in the world.
“India is a land known for its dharma and culture. Qualities of abdication, non-violence and self-control over senses are awakened in individuals by worshipping the statue of Lord Bahubali installed through observing ‘panchakalyana’ rituals. This in turn fosters feelings of love, trust, peace and amity,” the Swamiji said, adding every individual must strive to inculcate the rare and unique qualities inherent in Lord Bahubali in their lives and become better people.
Accordingly, one must pray to the almighty to give all his inherent qualities to one who offers prayer to him, the Swamiji said. Let there be world peace through the qualities of non-violence, sacrifice, abdication that Lord Bahubali practiced during his lifetime, the seer advised. ‘Kshullaka’ Dhyan Sagar Maharaj also offered benedictions. Veerendra Heggade, Hemavathi, his wife, family members, K Abhayachandra Jain, former minister were present.
