Titan collaborates with KVIC for a limited-edition khadi collection

Here’s everything you need to know about it

Thanks to the rising awareness on sustainability, khadi is being heralded as one of the star textiles in the country, and Titan’s latest collaboration serves proof. To celebrate Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary, the brand has collaborated with Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), a statutory body under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), to launch a khadi collection—a set of two watches crafted in the handwoven fabric, for both women and men.

Priced at Rs 5,000, the watches feature a silver dial showcasing the charkha, with khadi being used for the background and the straps. They have also been treated with a special coating to make them more durable without compromising on its authentic texture. The design balances Indian elements with Titan’s signature craftsmanship, making the practical costume watches ideal not just for daily wear, but also to pair with your ethnic looks. “Titan has been continuously evolving over the years along with the aspiration of our consumers. Our design stories have mirrored the journey of India’s progress and celebrated Indian culture. Khadi is revered in India and worldwide due to its uniqueness of being hand spun, handwoven and a truly sustainable fabric,” said Ravi Kant, chief executive officer, Watches & Wearables, Titan Company Limited.
