JAIPUR: The 10-year-old girl who was raped by a caterer at a marriage garden here on Sunday night is under mental trauma.
The doctors claimed that she is stable but she looks scared. “The vital medical parameters are normal and we have started her liquid intakes. But, she looks scared because of mental trauma,” said Dr Ashok Gupta, medical superintendent, JK Lon Hospital.
Doctors have noticed blood clots in her eyes for which an ophthalmologist has been called.
Her father is inconsolable as he refused to talk much about the incident. He only uttered few words. “I want the criminal to be hanged till death,” her father told TOI.
Police are investigating the matter. The 36-year-old accused Raju was presented before a local court, where he was sent to one-day police custody. He will be presented before the court on Wednesday.
“In the initial investigation, we have not found any criminal records registered in his name. Since he belongs to Bhind of Madhya Pradesh, we are writing to our counterparts in Bhind to find out if has any such criminal records registered against him,” said Ashok Gupta, additional commissioner of police (Crime) Jaipur.
The police put a lot of efforts in nabbing the accused as it was a challenge for them to identify the accused when more than 300 guests and other service providers were present at the engagement ceremony in Murlipura area.
They searched CCTV footages and questioned the guests and other persons present at the venue to arrest the accused.
The incident happened on Sunday night when the girl had come to attend her cousin’s engagement ceremony. The accused allegedly raped her in a toilet of the marriage garden.
