Maharashtra: Power supply at Kalyan stir site cut

KALYAN: The state electricity department on Monday evening cut off power supply to Kalyan's 'Shaheen Bagh' but protestors continued their sit-in stir by using mobile phones. Gaffar Shaikh, one of the protestors said, "Power was disconnected without informing us."
Another protestor said, "Our protest against CAA will continue." Sunil Kakade, section engineer Kalyan circle 1 said, "The organiser had taken permission for 3 days only and as the deadline was over, our staff disconnected power supply."
Bazarpeth police have also registered a case against the organiser for using loudspeakers and a public address system after 10pm on Saturday, when state housing minister Jitendra Awhad addressed the gatheirng.
