Heartless scammers have tried to cash in on the deaths of four children by starting a fake fundraiser.

Siblings Antony Abdallah, 13, Angelina Abdallah, 12, Sienna Abdallah, eight, and their 11-year-old cousin Veronique Sakr, were killed on Saturday after being hit by a 4WD on a footpath at Oatlands in Sydney's north-west.

Three fake fundraisers were set up under the name of Leila Abdallah - the mother of the three siblings.

One fake page was called 'Angelina, Anthony and Sienna funeral fund' and almost raised $2,000 on Gogetfunding with the boy's name spelled incorrectly, The Daily Telegraph reported.

Another that has raised more than $400 was reported on Mycause called 'Abdallah family', with a third was found on FundRazr called 'Angelina, Anthony and Sienna funeral fund'.

A false Facebook account was also created under Mrs Abdallah's name and was used by the fraudsters to send the fundraisers directly to people.

Family friend Stephanie Zaidan told the publication the family are aware of the scams.

'The last thing this family needs right now is to worry about fake fundraisers and information being sent around.'

'Please be mindful of what you share in whatsapp groups and Facebook.'

Close friend Stuart Bond set up a real fundraiser on Facebook.

'My dear friend just lost three of his precious children,' he wrote.

'Money cannot solve this. But it can allow their father, Danny to stay at home with his wife and children where he’s needed.

'Please help me help them.'

Mr Bond has raised almost $5,000.

Samuel William Davidson, 29, is facing up to 25 years in prison if he is convicted of 20 offences including four counts of manslaughter and high-range drink driving after Saturday's horrendous crash.

He has been isolated in jail over fears for his safety.

The builder allegedly blew 0.150, three times over the legal blood-alcohol limit.

Three others were seriously injured, including an 11-year-old boy and two girls, aged 10 and 13, who were taken to Westmead Children's Hospital.

The boy woke from an induced coma on Monday morning and is in a serious but stable condition. Both girls are stable.

The seven children, all from the same extended family, had been walking to buy ice cream when they were struck on Bettington Road, one of the main thoroughfares through Oatlands.
