Malappuram: Long march against CAA to begin today

MALAPPURAM: A long march demanding repeal of Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) being organized by district Congress committee will begin on Monday. The 10-day-long march will begin at Vazhikkadavu in the evening and conclude at Ponnani on February 13.
Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Mullappally Ramachandran will inaugurate the march at Vazhikkadavu at 4pm. Senior leaders of the party, Aryadan Muhammed, MLA A P Anilkumar, KPCC general secretary V A Karim, P T Ajaymohan, KPA Majeed also will attend the inaugural function.
KPCC vice-president P C Vishnu Nath will inaugurate the march from Edakkara on the second day and it will conclude at Nilambur. KPCC vicepresident C P Muhammed will inaugurate the march from Nilambur on the third day. The march on fourth day will begin from Edavanna and conclude at Manjeri. On the fifth day, former KPCC president V M Sudheeran will inaugurate the march, which will begin its tour from Malappuram town.
On February 11, former chief minister Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the march from Kottakkal. UDF convener Benny Behanan will inaugurate the march on February 12.
The march will concluded at Chamravattom Junction in Ponnani on February 13. All India Congress Committee general secretary K C Venugopal will inaugurate function. Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala, K Muraleedharan, Aryadan Muhammed, MLA A P Anilkumar and others will attend it.
