Cape Town – For sports fans the Super Bowl is about American football's biggest stars, competing for world-famous title but for the rest of us, it's about the halftime show.

From Beyoncé to Justin Timberlake and Katy Perry the fun and short piece of entertainment history has featured some of the most well-known names in music, and on Sunday, 2 February Shakira and Jennifer Lopez made their indelible mark on the tradition.

There were incredible dance moves, surprise performers, crowd surfing, pole dancing and plenty of hits as the pair co-headlined in Florida.

"Hola, Miami," Shakira shouted as she kicked off the performance. She then launched into a musical medley of her songs and her impressive guitar.

Then the world stopped as "Jenny from the block" hit the stage in a way that only she could, complete with dance moves that you have to see to believe.

JLo even reminded us that she was in a movie that she should have been nominated for an Oscar for, Hustlers – in which she played a stripper - by working a pole.

Special appearances included Bad Bunny and J Balvin as well as Jennifer Lopez's 11-year-old daughter, Emme, who appeared with a children's choir to sing Born in the U.S.A. and Let's Get Loud with her mom.
