VADODARA: Kevadia police has booked a travel agent for overcharging entry tickets to Statue of Unity. The SoU ticket coordinator noticed the entry ticket during barcode scanning and realized that the charge mentioned on it is more than the regular one.
According to the police, Ehsaan Saiyad got 10 express tickets at the entry of SoU on Sunday. He noticed that the tickets had Rs 1,260 written on them as entry fees whereas the actual entry fee is Rs 1,030 per person. The matter was reported to the cops who asked the tourists about the source of tickets. The tourists said that they had booked it from an agent based in Ahmedabad. During investigations, it came to light that the agent had tampered with the pdf format of the ticket and increased the prices to dupe the tourists. The accused duped them of Rs 2,300. In May 2019, a similar racket was busted when a Mumbai agency overcharged tickets of SoU.
