FALL RIVER - Atlantis Charter School recently received a $10,000 grant from Bristol County Savings Bank, through its charitable foundation. The grant will be used to further expand technology in the Atlantis Arts, Culture & Design Academy.

Atlantis Charter School Executive Director Robert Beatty and Atlantis Education Foundation Development Director F. George Jacome accepted the check during a ceremony on Dec. 19 at the Holiday Inn in Taunton.

This is the third consecutive year Atlantis has received a grant from the Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation. Atlantis received a $7,500 grant in 2017 and a $5,000 grant in 2018. Funds from those grants were also used to purchase new technology in the Arts, Culture & Design Academy.

The latest donation was part of $353,600 in grants awarded by the BCSCF to 44 non-profit organizations, including Atlantis, in the Taunton-Attleboro, New Bedford-Fall River and Rhode Island areas. Since the BCSCF was formed in 1996, the foundation has committed more than $22 million to hundreds of different non-profit organizations. In 2019, the foundation awarded close to $2 million to various 501(c)(3) organizations.
