JAIPUR: Three persons were arrested and
drugs worth Rs 4 crore was seized during joint operations by the drug controller office and narcotics department in Jaipur and
Jodhpur between January 31 and February 2.

Raja Ram Sharma said, “The drugs were stored without licence and and permission. The seized drugs, mainly antibiotics and medicines used for medical termination of pregnancy, can be misused for intoxication.”
In one of the raids, a joint team from the drug controller office and narcotics department followed a truck from Transport Nagar which stopped at a residence in
Gurjar Ki Thadi. When the officials raided the place, the workers of the drug store fled from the spot. The drug controller team called the narcotics department which found 20 boxes of medicines such as
tramadol, alprazolam and codine formulation, which comes under NDPS Act.
The drug controller office estimated the cost of the seized drugs to be Rs 2.78 crore. The truck was carrying the MTP drugs worth Rs 20 lakh, the drug controller office said.
Another raid was conducted at Hamid Nagar colony where two godowns loaded with Tramadol, Alprazolam, Tramadol injection and
codine phosphate worth Rs 25 lakh were found. Three persons were arrested. The drug controller also seized MTP drugs and amoxyclave of estimated cost Rs 13.5 lakh.
On January 31, the drug controller and narcotics department teams seized drugs of Rs 4.7 lakh from a firm at Roop Plaza Complex on New Colony Road which were allegedly stored illegally without any licence.
In the series, raids were conducted at three place in Jodhpur. The drug controller and narcotics department teams seized drugs come under NDPS Act worth Rs 15.7 lakh, Rs 60 lakh and Rs 29.5 lakh from
Baldev Nagar,
Shiv Nagar and Shanti Nagar Chaupasani.
