PATIALA: Hosts Punjab will lock horns with table-topper
Andhra Pradesh in their Ranji Trophy elite group clash at the
Dhruv Pandove Stadium in Patiala from Tuesday.
The visitors had landed in Patiala on Saturday, while the Punjab team has started practicing from Sunday.
Andhra has 27 points in 6 matches, they have won four and drew two. On the other hand, Punjab who had a rollicking start to the season with two outright victories has witness a slump in their form. Punjab has 18 points in six matches with two win, two losses and two draws.
For Punjab, skipper
Mandeep Singh has scored 619 runs in nine innings and had scored a double hundred against Hyderabad at the same venue. Whereas, for Andhra will be without the service of their star players Hanuma Vihari and KS Bharat, who are with the India A team in New Zealand.
Punjab Shubman Gill is also in India A.
For Andhra, a lot will be depend on their skipper Ricky Bhui, who has scored two centuries in the ongoing Ranji Trophy season.
