Just Cricket, Raipur teams post wins in Royal Premium Cricket League

The fifth edition of the Royal Premium Cricket League inaugurated at the Methodist Mecosabagh ground
NAGPUR: Just Riders and Fine Star, Raipur registered contrasting victories on the second day of the fifth edition of the Royal Premium Cricket League at the Methodist Mecosabagh ground here on Sunday.
Batting first in the first outing of the day, Roast Riders Cafe were restricted to 65 for 7 wickets in 8 overs. In reply, Just Riders reached the target with a wicket to spare. They huffed and puffed their way to score 68 for 9 wickets in 8 overs.
The second match was played between Fine Star, Raipur and Roast Riders Cafe. The visitors won the match by 22 runs.
Opting to bat, Raipur amassed 100 for the loss of 2 wickets in their stipulated 8 overs. Gopi Patel hammered 68 off just 28 balls, while Shabuddin Ali belted 21 off 16 balls. For Roast Riders Café, Deepak Kashyap and Vikram Patel took one wicket each.
Chasing a daunting target, Roast Riders Cafe could muster only 78 for 8 in 8 overs. Deepak Kashyap (20) and Malcolm John (17) tried hard but lack support from others.
Raipur’s Hassain scalped 2 wickets while Shabuddin Ali, Izhar, Ankit and Vardan took a wicket apiece. Man-of-the-match given to Sharad Anil Sharma by Umesh Ojha, director City Care and by Kodumal Dhanrajani, Chariman RPCL-V.
Earlier, the annual tourney was inaugurated by Sarabjeet Singh Bhatia, managing director, Bhatia Farms and Arun Kumar Jaiswar, chief regional manager (Nagpur Circle), Oriental Insurance Co Ltd. Kodumal Dhanrajani, chairman RPCL and MD, Shrikrishan Traders and Nagpur Restaurant, presided over the function. Rohit Kaisalwar, Kunal Bhumralkar, Kodumal Dhanrajani, Sunny Dudhani and Mohd Irfan Razzak were present on the occasion.
