PUNE: Vandals damaged 35
vehicles early on Sunday just behind the Sahakarnagar police station, smashing the headlamps and display consoles with iron rods. Another 13 vehicles were damaged in
Pimpri too.
Hemant Rajendra Ingle, a local ration shop owner, has lodged a complaint with the police. The suspects damaged 30 two-wheelers (motorcycles and scooters), the wind shields of two tempos and two autorickshaws.
The Sahakarnagar police have booked three unidentified men for damaging the vehicles parked on a public road, and hurling abuses.

Shivaji Pawar, senior inspector Nandkumar Bidwai and others surveyed the damage. Sardeshpande said vandalism took place around 2.30am.
Sub-inspector Gaurav Dev from the Sahakarnagar police station said, “Local residents who came out of their houses saw three men, one of them with an iron rod. They walked around in the area with the iron rod damaging the parked vehicles.”
Dev said “The reason behind their act is not known. We are trying to ascertain their identities. The area does not have CCTV surveillance”.
Sachin Aglave, whose two-wheeler was damaged, said he had bought the motorcycle two years ago. “It was dear to me. The vandals damaged the console, the mudguard and the petrol tank. I am sad.”
Another group of vandals used sticks and rods to damage 13 vehicles at Thermax Chowk in Pimpri on Sunday morning. The Pimpri police said the suspects damaged two-wheelers, a car and autorickshaws parked on a road around 3am on Sunday.
The suspects came to the spot on a motorcycle and then damaged the vehicles. The reason for the vandalism is not known.
