LUDHIANA: The
police on Sunday arrested a 24-year-old man for murdering his younger brother under the influence of alcohol in Randhirgarh.
The accused, identified as
Yadwinder Singh aka
Tarsem Singh of Village Bhammipura Kalan, was arrested from the local bus stand while he was trying to run away.
The Hathur police had lodged a murder case after the body of the 22-year-old deceased, Charanjit Singh, was found in fields in Randhirgarh three days ago.
On January 29, Charanjit had left home and told his wife that he will be late as he has to water the wheat crop. Next day when he did not return, the family launched a search.
On January 31, Charanjit's body with injury marks on the head was found in a field in Randhirgarh village.
SHO, Hathur police station,
Harjinder Singh said the accused murdered Charanjit under the influence of alcohol. However, the accused told the former village
sarpanch about the crime.
After being informed by the former sarpanch, the cops managed to nab the accused while he was trying to run away.
