MANGALURU: MLA
U T Khader said all BJP MPs from
Karnataka should hold a dharna in front of Parliament, opposing the Central government’s apathy towards the state. He said the budget has nothing worth mentioning when it comes to sanctioning of funds for the state.
“They (BJP MPs) should question the Central government for not allocating funds for the development of the state in the budget. They should ask the Central government for the rightful share of Karnataka in the budget. Congress is also planning booth level campaigns against the Central government’s apathy towards Karnataka,” Khader told reporters on Sunday.
Taking a dig at the BJP government’s
Make in India policy, Khader said, “They speak about swadeshi, but they have decided to allow external commercial borrowing and foreign direct investment even in the
education sector. Is it their patriotism?” he questioned.
Stating that not much has been allotted for the revival of agriculture in the nation, Khader said that allocations towards the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and
National Rural Employment Guarantee Schemes too have been cut.
“It is a budget which has no financial discipline and no measures to revive the economy, which has been witnessing a slow down. The budget offers no solutions for the growth of GDP, which is much less than that of the UPA regime. Further, it does not project ways to increase job opportunities,” Khader said.
