ISRO Young Scientist Programme 2020: Application process to begin tomorrow

The programme is aimed at imparting basic knowledge on space technology, space science and space applications to students.
NEW DELHI: Applications for the second edition of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Young Scientist Programme 2020 will begin on February 3. The two-week residential programme will be held at the four centres of ISRO located in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Shillong and Thiruvananthapuram from May 11-22. The programme is aimed at imparting basic knowledge on space technology, space science and space applications to students.

Eligibility criteria


Those who have finished class VIII and currently studying in class IX can apply for the programme. The selection is based on academic performance. Students from the rural areas have been given special weightage in the selection criteria. The list of the selected candidates from each state will be announced by the last week of March. Three students from each state/Union Territory will participate in this programme every year covering CBSE, ICSE and state-board syllabus.

The interested students can register online through ISRO website: www.isro.gov.in by February 24.
