PATNA: A JD(U) functionary, Amit Kumar Vishwa, was killed and six others received serious injuries in a violent clash between two groups during an idol immersion procession in Sheikhpura district late on Saturday evening.
Police said an altercation took place between the two groups over blaring DJ music on loudspeaker under Ariari police station area. Sheikhpura SP Santosh Kumar said, "Additional armed forces have been deployed. The injured have been taken to the Sadar hospital." He added, "However, the condition of one of them is stated to be critical. The deceased was the block unit secretary of the JD(U)."
