Punjab: 'Drug addict' dies under mysterious circumstances in Jagraon

LUDHIANA: A person who was allegedly hooked to drugs died under mysterious circumstances at mai Jeena Indira colony of Jagraon on Friday. The police got information about the incident on Saturday and have started probe into the matter. The deceased was identified as 30-year-old Hardeep Singh, who was lone bread earner for his family and worked in a marriage palace.
Police officials said that Hardeep was hooked to drugs for last about five years. They added that he died under mysterious circumstances on Friday morning.
Cops said that a prominent resident of the area claimed that he died of drug overdose. They added that after the incident, family conducted the last rites of the deceased on Friday.
SHO city Jagraon police station, Inspector Jagjit Singh said that they got information about the death of Hardeep on Saturday and have started probe into the matter. He added that prominent leader of the area has claimed that he died of drug overdose and they are probing that.
Police officials said that Hardeep has left behind his mother Kuwlinder Kaur, three sisters, wife Mandeep Kaur and five children including four daughters.
