Rajkot: Clerk held for stealing from court treasury

RAJKOT: The clerk with the principal civil court of Maliya-Miyana was arrested for allegedly embezzling Rs 2.37 lakh from the court’s treasury.
Police said the accused, identified as Yogesh Chauhan, had allegedly siphoned off the money that was deposited in the court’s treasury in the forms of fines, alimony and bail money.
“Chauhan had allegedly embezzled Rs 2.37 lakh from May 12, 2019 to January 30 this year,” said an official from Maliya-Miyana police station.
